On Nov. 7, the people voted to elect a new leader, but the results have been delayed due to a recount. Whoever wins Florida will receive enough electoral votes to become the next president. This could result in the candidate who didn’t get the popular vote being elected.
Some say if you eliminate the electoral vote, the candidates will not travel to the smaller states. I would be interested in the number of registered voters who went to hear the candidates in Maine.
Our decision should be based on the record of the candidate and their views on the current issues. The choice should not be made on whether or not the candidate “stomped” through our state.
I challenge every member of Congress to get to work and vote out the Electoral College. Give the people back their voice. Rebecca Wiers Palmyra
