BANGOR DAILY NEWS (BANGOR, MAINE

The members of the Stillwater Neighborhood Association who met on Nov. 8 expressed appreciation to the city of Old Town and the Old Town Police Department for controlling the crowds at the Riverview Townhouses. We thank these dedicated public servants for discreetly exercising their professional judgment to ensure the security of our community.

Councilors Mary Bailey and Alan Stormann, Councilor-elect Alan Reynolds and Chief Don O’Halloran are actively participating with us to find solutions to persistent problems here. Also deserving credit are the Orono Police Department, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department and the Maine State Police for providing crucial law enforcement backup.

Help from the University of Maine is warmly received. Dean Robert Dana and Dean Angel Loredo continue to listen and respond to our concerns, offering solid support and good advice.

Our association provides a voice and an ear for communicating with fellow residents, the city of Old Town, and the University of Maine. We welcome ideas and efforts from all who wish to enhance community support and security in Stillwater. J. Martin Chair Stillwater Neighborhood Association
