BANGOR – Frederick McMahon, director of the Fraser Institute of Vancouver, British Columbia, will present the final installment in the Husson College Economics and Free Enterprise lecture series at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in Kominsky Auditorium, Husson College.
His remarks are titled “How Lower Taxes Influence Global Market Opportunities.”
In this lecture, McMahon will explore prosperity and the public policies of Ireland, Holland and, closer to home, the economies of the states of Georgia, Michigan and Massachusetts.
Before joining the Fraser Institute, McMahon was senior policy analyst at the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is the author of “Looking the Gift Horse in the Mouth: The Impact of Federal Transfers on Atlantic Canada.”
His most recent book is “Road to Growth: How Lagging Economies Become Prosperous.” He received his master’s degree from McGill University in Montreal.
