Brittney, 11, is a humorous, attractive and caring girl who enjoys spending time with her foster family.

A creative child, Brittney has brown-green eyes and brown hair. A sixth-grade pupil, she has no academic problems and enjoys drawing and organizing memorabilia into scrapbooks.

Brittney enjoys animals, especially dogs and horses, and would like to have a pet. She enjoys playing games – the “Trouble” board game is a favorite – and likes watching movies and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys craft projects and loves Mary Kate and Ashley dolls and movies. Last year, she participated in a school play.

Brittney speaks occasionally about becoming a teacher, according to her foster mom.

For outdoor activities, Brittney enjoys riding her bicycle and swimming.

Brittney is looking for a two-parent family, and she hopes it includes a dog. Other animals also would be welcome.

Brittney is hoping for a sister and interacts well with children of all ages. She particularly does well with younger children.

Brittney needs to be able to continue contact with her biological brothers and her current foster family to whom she is very attached.

Adoption subsidy will be provided to the approved family.

“Caring Today for a Better Tomorrow”, the third annual training conference put on by Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine, will conclude this afternoon at the Bangor Motor Inn. More than 150 foster parents, adoptive parents and others attended the two-day conference. Bette Hoxie, AFFM program coordinator, termed the gathering a success. She credited AFFM’s 11-member board of directors for its organizational role. On Friday, speakers talked on a range of subjects from parenting the attachment-disordered child to kinship care, the latest trend in the world of adoption and foster care. Former Maine singer Rick Pinette got the conference off to a rousing start with his heartfelt rendition of “Joy to the World,” a rock song that features Jeremiah the bullfrog.
