BAR HARBOR – An American Indian basket collection from New Mexico is headed to the new Abbe Museum.
The collection owned by Dianna Baker has been donated to the museum.
The 44 baskets in the collection were made primarily by members of New England tribes, using traditional materials ash and sweetgrass. They date from the late 19th century to the present.
