I have been reading the feedback to the article, “Battered Men.” How many men are abused by their partners? Over 90 international studies demonstrate that men are equally or more victimized in a heterosexual relationship. The Canadian government just released a national study that demonstrated that 8 percent of women and 7 percent of men experience violence in their relationships.
Does Maine have an equal amount of facilities and services available to men as there are for women?
I will never devalue the need of women shelters in any community. We certainly still need them. But why do people devalue the need of facilities and services for men?
