Act of cruelty

I suppose by now most everyone has heard of the cat that I picked up in Monson with the 16 pellets in its face. He has recovered from his wounds and has been adopted to a good home.

It would appear all is well that ends well; however, the person or persons responsible for this cowardly and criminal act have not as yet been apprehended. A large majority of violent criminals as well as almost every known serial killer began their life of crime by torturing and abusing small animals.

Most people realize this, which is why I have been receiving calls offering reward money for anyone giving information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible. So far we have received contributions totaling up to $3,080; $2,500 was contributed by one individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

All donations are welcome, large or small. Anyone wishing to donate to this cause, please send to: Town of Monson Cat Fund, P.O. Box 308, Monson 04464, or call the Monson town office at 997-3641. Meanwhile, as this fund grows, if anyone has any information on who has done this terrible act, please give me a call at 997-3913 or the Piscataquis Sheriff’s Department at 1-800-432-7372. All phone calls will be kept strictly confidential.
