Boys and girls who want to attend one of the Bangor YMCA’s two summer camps can help themselves by selling candy and popcorn. This annual event will hold its kickoff at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the YMCA, 127 Hammond St. The candy will be displayed and procedures for selling will be explained.
Young people from 8 to 15 years old who are registered for Camp Jordan and boys and girls 5 to 12 years old who plan to attend Camp Prentiss are eligible to sell the goods. Registration for Camp Jordan will be held Saturday, March 31.
The candy that will be sold is from Pleasantville Farms and includes pecan supremes, cashew patties, mint creams and Newman’s Own Popcorn.
Camp Jordan, the YMCA summer residential camp, is located near Ellsworth. Camp Prentiss, the day camp, is located in Hampden. Both camps are co-educational and open to non-members of the YMCA as well as members.
