Hodgdon nips Owls by 65-64
MADAWASKA – Mike Cain buried a jump shot from the top of the key with 15 seconds remaining to carry Hodgdon to a 65-64 win over Madawaska in schoolboy basketball action here Friday night.
The win upped Hodgdon’s record to 3-4. Jason Langley was high-scorer for the Hawks with 20 points. Cain finished with 19, including a pair of three-pointers. Avon Stewart chipped in with 12.
For Madawaska, 4-2, Ken Daley was the top scorer with 20. Jon Picard had 15, Kevin Cote 13, and Gary Nadeau hit for 10.

Stanley basket sparks Trojans
ROCKLAND – Travis Stanley’s basket with 40 seconds remaining snapped a 37-37 tie and handed Rockland its first setback of the season, 40-37, in schoolboy basketball here Friday night.
The victory for the visiting Trojans improved their record to 2-3.
Stanley led the way with 18 points for Mount Desert Island. Chris Jeffers added 10.

At Charleston, Bradley Preble’s heroics down the stretch lifted the Charleston Christian Academy to the overtime win over Windham Christian.
With 10 seconds left in regulation, Preble scored two technical foul free throws to send the game into overtime. In the extra period, Preble went 6-for-6 from the line as the Eagles iced the win.
Overall, Bradley Preble scored 29 points and grabbed 17 rebounds while his brother Bryan Preble added 17 points and 21 rebounds. Jay Philbrick scored 12 points for the 3-2 Eagles while Chris Daigle grabbed 10 rebounds.
