What a difference a month can make! Before the Nov. 6 election, everything in Maine’s financial situation was just great — no budget deficit according to Gov. McKernan’s administration. Now, all we read about in the papers is that Maine has a large budget deficit, no money to keep rest areas open, and a 15-percent cut in the labor force.
