CALAIS — Calais High School senior Tricia Carter of Calais has won the 1991 Principal’s Award, Principal Michael W. Chadwick announced this week.
“During her years at Calais High School, Carter has worked hard in the classroom, on the playing field, and as a leader in the school and community,” he said. “She very much deserves this award and the recognition which it brings.”
The Principal’s Award is presented to an outstanding senior in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MSSPA, the professional association of Maine’s secondary school principals.
Carter, Chadwick and the recipients of principals’ awards at other Maine high schools will attend an honors luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Bangor Civic Center.
At the honors luncheon these students each will receive a plaque. One of them will receive the Horace D. McGowan Scholarship. The $1,000 McGowan Scholarship is presented in honor of the MSSPA’s past executive director and will be presented by McGowan.
