ROCKLAND — A schedule of meetings for the SAD 5 Board of Directors to review the 1991-92 budget has been posted by Chairman Edward Miller. All meetings are open to the public. Individual accounts of the budget will be reviewed during the meetings.
The schedule:
7:45 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the high school library, Board of Directors, Office of Superintendent and Office of Principals accounts.
7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, high school library, health services, school improvement, community services, debt service, building operation, transportation.
7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, high school library, elementary education, guidance and activities, and special services.
7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, high school library, secondary instruction, including staffing; secondary guidance, activities and library.
7 p.m. Monday, April 22, high school auditorium, budget summarization, discussion and final review.
7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, high school library, adoption of budget by board.
7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, Owls Head Central School, public budget hearing for residents of Owls Head and South Thomaston.
7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, high school auditorium, public budget hearing for Rockland residents.
Tuesday, May 28, balloting on the budget by voters in each of the three communities of the district.
Miller also announced that the selection of a new superintendent of schools should be accomplished by the end of April. The board’s Search Committee will screen applicants April 9, 10 and 11. Final interviews will be conducted April 23, with tentative selection scheduled for April 25.
