White Mites win, lose, draw
The Bangor White Mites youth hockey team added a win, loss and tie to their record this weekend at the Casco Bay Invitational. In the first game at North Yarmouth High School in Yarmouth on Saturday, Joey Tuck scored 2 goals, including the game-tying goal as Auburn and Bangor White battled to a 3-3 tie. For 11-11-3 Bangor White, Aaron Davis scored the other goal. Matthew Augre, Matt Cote and Brian Andrews each scored a goal for Auburn. In the second Saturday game, at the Cumberland County Civic Center, T.J. Carmody had a hat trick to lead Olympia Sports of Portland to a 4-2 win. For Olympia, Nick Rich added a goal. For Bangor, Tuck and Mike Dube each scored a goal. On Sunday at the Portland Ice Arena, Bangor White notched a 3-2 win thanks to a late goal from Luke Kotredes. Jeanna LeClerc and Mike Dube each scored a goal for Bangor. For Energy Electric of Portland, Tom Werner had both goals.
Bangor Red Mites
The Bangor Red Mites youth hockey team went 1-2 in the Casco Bay Invitational Tournament this weekend. J.W. Boudreau defeated the Red Mites 5-0 in the first game at North Yarmouth Academy Friday. Tucker Corriveau and Brian Haight scored 2 goals apiece for J.W. Boudreau and goalie Corey Millett recorded the shutout. In the second game, at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Saturday, the Red Mites defeated Fort Halifax Construction 9-1. Brent Hawkes and Ryan Shumaker both had hat tricks for Bangor and Josh Johnson scored 2 goals. Justin Libby added a goal for the Red Mites. The Midcoast Mites defeated Bangor 6-0 at the Portland Ice Arena Saturday night. Daniel Yates scored 3 goals, Thomas May had 2 and Tony Robleto scored 1.
