The NEWS is in the process of tabulating ballots for its annual All-Maine high school basketball teams, long recognized as the definitive all-state teams.

The deadline has been extended until March 29 to accommodate processing of the ballots and give those who have not sent in their ballots a chance to do so.

This marks the 36th year the NEWS has selected an All-Maine schoolboy team and will be the 15th year for the schoolgirl selections.

Ballots should be completed and returned in the stamped, self-addressed envelope provided. Coaches who did not receive a ballot may obtain one by calling the NEWS at 1-800-660-8033.

The teams are scheduled to be published in early April.
