WATERVILLE – Scott Sibley, Scott Brawn and Buzz Simpson started out the game with back-to-back-to-back home runs to spark Thomas College to a 7-3 baseball victory over the Saint Joseph’s College Monks Friday.
Corey Pelletier added to the Terriers’ lead with a solo homer in the third and Sibley added a two-run home run in the fifth.
Simpson added a double, Pelletier also singled and Aaron Bonenfant singled twice for Thomas.
Lucas Hannigan hit a solo home run and an RBI single for Saint Joseph’s of Standish. Jim Becvar doubled and singled while Jesse LaCasse added an RBI single.

At Medford, Mass., Tufts clinched the New England Small College Athletic Conference East Division regular-season title by beating Colby of Waterville.
Dan Callahan’s three-run home run highlighted a four-run second inning for the Jumbos behind winner Dave Martin, who scattered seven hits in six innings.
Kevin Brunelle paced Colby with a double and a single, while Vince Domestico and Jay Johnson had two singles each.

At Lewiston, Scott Jamieson pitched a six-hitter, outdueling Bates’ Mike Kinsman, as Bowdoin eked out the victory.
The game was played at Lewiston because of poor field conditions at Bowdoin.
Jamieson struck out four and walked none for the Polar Bears, who scored twice in the fourth on Jim Shea’s RBI single, two errors and a passed ball.
