Gabarro’s five RBIs propel Foxcroft Ponies past Dexter

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Seth Gabarro’s three-run home run in the fourth inning proved to be the difference as he helped lead Foxcroft Academy to an 8-5 high school baseball victory over Dexter.

Gabarro also singled twice and drove in five total runs. Josh Withee pitched a seven-hitter and singled twice while freshman Caleb Pelletier drove in the tying run with a two-run single in the third inning.

Adam Russell led the Tigers with two doubles and two RBIs. Ross Morrison doubled in a run and Eric Day also had a double.

At Pittsfield, Andy Kenny spun a four-hit shutout, striking out six and walking none as the Black Bears of Readfield prevailed.

Jared Lemieux and Seth Emery sparked the attack with an RBI triple each for Maranacook. Ben Muniz rapped a single and a triple.

Steve Kennedy ripped a double for the Huskies.

At Milo, Dan Macomber cracked three doubles and a single and drove in four runs as the Pirates breezed past rival Penquis.

Bryon White ripped three singles, a double and also knocked in four for Piscataquis Community High of Guilford.

Steve Kissell sparked the Patriots with a 13-strikeout effort. He also provided three singles and an RBI. Jordan Allen rapped three singles with an RBI.

At Searsport, Drew Mercier rapped a double and two singles (3 RBIs) and scored four times as the Vikings rolled.

Dan Rainey singled three times (2 RBIs) and Pasco Grove added two singles and three RBIs.

Saben Rossi hit an RBI double for Narraguagus of Harrington.

At Deer Isle, Blake Alley blasted a solo home run in the fifth and a grand slam in the sixth to pace Sumner of East Sullivan.

Renwick had a double and a single for Sumner. Dustin Young also collected two singles.

Josh Bolton had a RBI double and Bennett Gray knocked in a run with a single for Deer Isle-Stonington.

At Lee, Andrew Kite sparked a six-run sixth-inning rally with a two-out, two-run single to tie the score. Fred Pete followed with an RBI triple and the Lynx of Lincoln held on.

Pete also rapped a double and picked up a save for Mattanawcook. Matt Malone cracked a solo homer and Tyler Libbey added a two-run double.

Bruce Stevens sparked the Pandas with a solo homer. Jeremy Ham took the tough-look loss, but registered 11 strikeouts. Jason Mallett jolted a three-run homer, and Opie MacDonald laced an RBI triple.

Jason Shorey sparked the Hawks with a two-run single. Matt Watson and Joey Schapp collected a single each.

At Husson College in Bangor, Zev Myerowitz laced a two-run double as the Crusaders rolled.

Pat Healy and Andy Tremble collected two singles each for John Bapst of Bangor. Cole McElwain and Keith Nason combined on a three-hitter.

Ryan Levesque sparked the Red Riots with a double, and Mike Merritt rapped a single.

At Milo, the Patriots managed just one hit but parlayed 16 walks and numerous hit batsmen into the win.

Jean Hamlin had an RBI single for Penquis, which rallied for six runs in the bottom of the sixth. Dani Graves struck out nine to earn the win.

Heather Woodbury singled twice and knocked in a run and Amanda Keyte had a single and two RBIs for Piscataquis Community of Guilford. Caterina Riitano struck out 14 batters.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Cindy Koscielny hit a solo homer and knocked in two runs as the Tigers roared.

Sarah Carnes collected three singles for Dexter. Karen Nelson provided two singles and three RBIs.

The Ponies had four different hitters with a single each.

At Greenville, Darcie Larsen allowed only one hit in blanking the Lakers. Larsen struck out nine and walked three.

Jessie Craft led the Greenville offense with three singles and a double. Amber Lavigne had three singles and Crystal Verris added a single and double.

Hollan Oliver had a single, a double, and a triple for the winners. Roz Santospago rapped a single and a double (1 RBI). Kourtney Larson cracked two singles (1 RBI), and Heather Gray had eight strikeouts in the circle.

Rachel Philio knocked three singles and drove in a run for the Tigers. Dani Crowley contributed a single, a double, and two RBIs.

Elise Bishop stroked a double and a single with two RBIs while Nickie Boutin and winner Sarah Clapp (1 RBI) added two singles each. Clapp pitched a three-hitter, striking out five and walking one.

Holly Franck tripled and singled for Stearns of Millinocket.

Woodward pitches perfect game

At Searsport, senior Ashley Woodward fired a perfect game, striking out 13, to lead the Knights of Harrington to the win in a battle of unbeatens.

The game was Woodward’s eighth career no-hitter and her third in five starts this season. She also threw a perfect game as a sophomore.

Woodward also drove in two runs with a single and a double. Anne Woodsum, Heather Fitzpatrick and Missy Barbee added RBI singles.

Tara Lee Webster struck out 13 and walked just two for the Vikings.

At Husson College in Bangor, the Crusaders plated seven unearned runs on 14 Orono errors en route to the victory.

Nikki Novak sparked the offense with a double, a single, and two RBIs while Rebecca Stevens rapped three singles, a double, and knocked in a run.

Madi Lam paced the Red Riots with a double, a single, and an RBI. Katie Glencross cracked two singles.

At Hermon, Nicole Labbe slammed a two-run triple as the Red Devils of Corinth took advantage of seven Hermon errors and 13 walks to roll to the win.

Jen Rollins cracked a double, a single, and knocked in three runs for Central. Jody Harvey connected for a double and a single with an RBI. Renee Trafton added two singles.

Rachel Nightengale jolted a two-run double for the Hawks. Lauren Fournier ripped an RBI double and Kristen Hart notched two singles with an RBI.

At East Millinocket, Meagan Cyr scored the winning run for Penobscot Valley of Howland in a close game.

Cyr tripled in the seventh then Krystal Levesque grounded to first to knock in the winning run. Toni Babineau had a double.

Jessica Day led the hitting for Schenck with three singles. Lynn Farrington had two singles with a RBI. Jennifer Davis also singled twice.
