BRUNSWICK – John Hartnett hit an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to break an 8-8 tie and lead the Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 9-8 baseball victory over the Colby College White Mules Tuesday.

Bowdoin starter Al Bugbee set the school record for victories in a season, earning his seventh in a complete game of work. He is now 7-1. Brad Chin singled twice and doubled for the Polar Bears, who finish the regular season at 17-8, and Matt Rogers singled twice.

Jim Dionizio hit a grand slam in the seventh inning for the 11-16 White Mules and Rich Waggenknecht hit a 2-run homer in the eighth. Chris Baynes added 2 singles.
