READING, Penn. – Eddie Vanidestine, Husson College’s sophomore designated hitter, was named to the NAIA All-Area 8 team here Wednesday.
Leon Renaud, a junior catcher at St. Joseph’s College in Standish, was named to the team for the second straight year.
Vanidestine, a Brewer High product, batted .427 over the last season and set a school records in hits (46). He had 2 home runs, 11 doubles, 4 triples, and drove in 27 runs.
Renaud hit .327 with 9 home runs and 29 RBIs for the Monks, who lost both games in Wednesday’s tournament.
