Outlook: The Great Danes were no-hit in their first-round tourney game by Boston University’s Robyn Horrick. The winner will take on either Hartford or BU at 4 p.m. today, while the loser goes home. Albany entered the tourney batting only .226 as a team, the Black Bears .230. Maine ace Jenna Merchant rested the stress fracture in her right foot on Thursday. If she can’t go today, Jaegge will get the call again, but softball pitchers are accustomed to pitching in back-to-back games. Jaegge allowed only one run in Thursday’s first-round loss.

Outlook: The league-leading Bears may be able to clinch a postseason berth with a good showing. UMaine has won eight straight and 10 of its last 11 while fourth-place Stony Brook has lost four of five. UMaine continues to lead AE in hitting at .321 and looks to prove it, but the Seawolves have a solid staff that can strike hitters out regularly. These are the top two defensive teams in the league.
