BROOKSVILLE — The first in a summer series of talks presented at the Brooksville Free Public Library will feature Dick Kleiner, author and Hollywood columnist. Kleiner will speak on “Writing the Lives of Hollywood Stars” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Buck’s Harbor Yacht Club. Now a Brooksville resident, Kleiner was Hollywood correspondent for Newspaper Enterprise Association, a Scripps-Howard news feature service, for 25 years. Among the stars whose autobiographies Kleiner has written are Mervyn LeRoy, Tony Martin and Cyd Charisse, Jackie Cooper and Alice Faye.
Donations will be accepted at the door, with all proceeds going toward furnishing the new Brooksville Library, currently being constructed. There will be a question and answer session and refreshments following the talk.
For further information, call the Library at 326-4560 on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to noon.
