HOULTON – Aimee Guy’s bases-loaded single with two outs in the sixth inning scored the tying and winning runs for the Shiretowners in Houlton’s 8-6 softball victory over Fort Kent Monday.
Guy also pitched a seven-hitter for the Shires. Alyssa Foster had three singles and two RBIs, Sarah Beasley had two singles and an RBI, and Kasey Cleary singled twice.
Ashley Desjardins tripled and singled while Ashley Pelletier had two singles for the Warriors.

At Dyer Brook, Erica Bickford led the visiting Eagles past Southern Aroostook with two doubles and two singles.

Hodgdon sweeps doubleheader
At Hodgdon, Shanna McGary pitched both ends of a doubleheader and allowed 12 total hits to help the Hawks sweep a doubleheader with an 18-13 victory over Ashland in the first game and a 9-2 win over Washburn in the second.
In the first game, Amanda Fitzpatrick and Alicia Dwyer each had two singles and a double while combining for seven RBIs to pace the Hawks. Sarah Quint and Erin Foster each singled three times.
Ashley Sutherland had a double and three singles for the Hornets. Pam Bennett and Amber Smith each doubled and singled.
In the second game, Sam Williams hit three singles and Quint two to pace the Hawks as McGary allowed one hit while notching seven strikeouts and one walk.
Jamie Abar’s single was the lone hit for the Beavers.

Greater Houlton Christian sweeps
At Linneus on Saturday, Danielle Kelly capped a furious rally in the first game of a doubleheader by scoring the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh.
Greater Houlton Christian Academy topped Washburn 14-13 in the first game and 16-2 in the second.
In the first game, the Eagles scored 10 runs over the final two innings, including five to erase a four-run deficit in the seventh.
Sara Jago singled and doubled, Megan Jago jolted a two-run homer, Lacey Farrar singled twice and Kelley doubled for the Eagles.
Kristin Carter, Sirena Dow and Marian Dow each singled and scored for the Beavers.
In the second game, Sara Wallace allowed just one hit, striking out four, and helped her own cause with a triple and a single.
Sara Jago singled twice and doubled, Kelly singled twice, Megan Jago smacked a three-run home run and Farrar hit a solo homer.
Liza Maynard singled and scored for Washburn.
