Bangor police arrested Sharon Savoie, 25, of Saint John, New Brunswick, on Monday and charged her with theft. An employee at the TJ Maxx clothing store on Broadway nabbed Savoie as she tried to make off with a purse stuffed with $225 worth of merchandise.
Savoie initially gave police a false name and said she was from a different town. But when an officer asked her in the Penobscot County Jail about the misinformation, she correctly identified herself, the arrest report said.
