LA CROSSE, Wis. – It’s the time of year when quarterbacks get sore arms everywhere in the NFL, and the New Orleans Saints are no exceptions.
“It’s like tired legs at another position. They have to work through it,” Coach Jim Mora said. “Then they bounce back.”
John Fourcade has been on trainer Dean Kleinschmidt’s injury report often because of a sore elbow, and Steve Walsh gets precautionary treatment.
“Steve would go in after practice and get ice on his arm, but it was not like he hurt it, more of a preventive type thing – a little soreness,” Mora said.
The discussion began after Mora was asked about Mike Buck’s arm. Buck was seen taking a couple of pills during Thursday’s workout, and he called an assistant trainer to give his right arm a rubdown between throws.
Later, Buck said he took a couple of aspirin for a headache, and he got a rubdown with an analgesic ointment to keep his arm warm.
Mora said he didn’t know of any arm trouble Buck had, and that Bobby Hebert had not complained of any problems. “Of course, his arm has had a lot of rest,” he said.
Hebert sat out last season in a contract dispute.
