Conservation club suspect claims innocence

The last of four people charged in last month’s break-in at the Penobscot County Conservation Club pleaded innocent Friday in Penobscot County Superior Court.

Timothy Robinson, 25, of Bangor, was one of three men charged with burglary, theft and ancillary theft. Additionally, the wife of one of the men was charged with burglary and theft.

The four were accused of taking rifles, a coffee maker, a camera and a first-aid kit from the club on North Main Street in Brewer. Most of the items were recovered.

The three other suspects — Christopher Ellis, 24, his wife, Sandra Ellis, 22, and his brother, Mark Ellis, 23, all of Bangor — pleaded innocent in separate proceedings earlier this week.

Mark Ellis also is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon as the result of a standoff between him and Bangor police in May near the Airport Mall that ended when he shot himself in the stomach.
