WATERVILLE – Mike Greve’s 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning scored the winning runs and gave Augusta North a 5-4 victory over Maremont of Biddeford for the State Little League championship here at Purnell Field Sunday.
The title was Augusta North’s second straight and gives it a berth in the New England Regional at Bristol, Conn., starting Tuesday. Augusta North is tentatively scheduled to play Park City American of Bridgeport, Conn., at 5 p.m.
For 3-1 Augusta North, Keith Genest singled twice and stole a base. Greve went the distance, scattering 6 hits for the victory.
Chris Paquette led the way for 4-2 Maremont with a double, a single, and an RBI.
