Richmond knocks off North Haven

AUGUSTA – Staci Roy scored 16 points as the No. 8 Richmond girls basketball team knocked off No. 1 North Haven 44-33 in a Western Maine Class D quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center Wednesday.

Rachel Furcy added 11 for Richmond.

For North Haven, Amanda Lantange scored 12 points.

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Corey Beaulieu knocked in three goals and added two assists to lead the No. 13 Ponies to the Class B preliminary round win over the No. 12 Indians.

Josh Sands chipped in with a goal and two assists for Foxcroft. Brandon Johnson and Ryan Taylor each scored a goal and Mike Freese added two assists. Zach Brooks made 27 saves on 31 shots.

Griffin Dill led the Indians with a goal and two assists. Andy Pease had a goal and an assist. Garett Hayman and David Marley scored a goal apiece. Jason Karam, Mike Stuart and Jeff Turcotte combined for 31 saves on 37 shots.
