Hospice programs to assist people experiencing a close personal loss

HOPE — The board of directors of Coastal Family Hospice has announced the start of another Grief Support Group and Bereavement Program for the Mid-Coast area. From 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, the group will meet at the home of Norma Shejen, Route 17, in South Hope. The program will last 10 weeks, and is open to anyone who has experienced a close personal loss within the last two years through the death of a spouse, parent, child, sibling or close friend.

The program will be led by Shejen, a Hospice volunteer who has previously led a number of grief support groups in York County.

Emphasis will be placed on learning to live and deal with loss, while coping with the problems and challenges arising from a new lifestyle sometimes imposed by the death of a loved one.

To register or for further information, call Shejen at 785-5233, the Hospice office at 594-2525 or write to: Coastal Family Hospice, P.O. Box 797, Rockland 04841. There is no charge for the program.
