The University of Maine hockey connection has swelled the Boston Bruins camp by six players and veteran NEWS hockey writer Larry Mahoney will be checking their progress as preseason drills take place this week at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass.

Heading the list of former Black Bears on the current Boston roster is defenseman Bob Beers.

Those looking to join Beers on the Bruins team are ex-Bears Jack Capuano, Matt DelGuidice, Guy Perron, and Mike Golden, as well as former UNH standout Steve Leach, whose brother Jon Leach played at UMaine.
