BELFAST – Morgan Crandall and Melissa Gray each had two singles and three RBIs to help lift the Belfast Lions to a 10-0 high school softball victory over the Mount View Mustangs Wednesday.
Kate Ross hit a double with one RBI for the Lions and Sam Ellis hit a single and drove in two runs.

Pitcher Sarah DeFilipp was aided by a strong defense while she didn’t allow a walk and struck out four. Classmate Anna Corey drove in the winning run in the sixth inning and singled twice. DeFilipp also added two singles.
Jill Ouellette and Erin Sherman each had two singles for Old Town. Hard-luck losing pitcher Sarah Metivier struck out 11 and allowed only three walks.

At Orono, Bo Thomas and Ryan Levesque drilled back-to-back homers for the second straight day as the Riots cruised.
Jeff Miller belted two doubles and a triple and drove in five runs for the Red Riots. Derek Sinclair added two singles and Brandon Terrill limited Nokomis to just three hits in his first start of the year. Levesque followed Thomas’ two-run homer with his own blast.

At Waldoboro, the Cougars of Farmington rallied for three runs in the seventh to tie the game and blew it open with a seven-run eighth.
Matt Karlson led off the seventh with a home run and Tim Shumway tied it three batters later with a two-run homer. Ryan Beisaw rapped four singles and a double for the Cougars while Derek Rollins doubled in the seventh and singled. Jason Shaw had two singles.
Jon Beardsley paced the Panthers with two doubles, a single and five RBIs. Mike Beardsley added a homer, two singles and four RBIs while Jamie Havener rapped three singles and Craig Jackson had a triple, a single and scored four runs.

Matt Turgeon singled twice for BC and Tyler Wilson had a two-run single.
