A daylong workshop on the healing effects of music and sound will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Blue Hill Town Hall. The course will be taught by Kay Gardner. In 1986 she was a guest of the department of anesthesiology at the Yale school of medicine when they launched a pilot program using recorded music to accompany surgical procedures.
