An article Thursday about Orono teacher contracts was misleading in reporting that salaries increased nearly 10 percent over a two-year period. While the overall settlement of $200,000 amounts to about a combined 10 percent increase this year and in 1992-1993, not all teachers will receive that percentage increase. The level of increase depends on where the teachers are on the salary schedule. For example, Superintendent Richard Moreau said that first-year teachers would receive no salary raise this year but would get 4.3 percent next year.
