Presque Isle library urges kids to travel by book

PRESQUE ISLE – The Mark & Emily Tuner Memorial Library will start its annual summer reading program for children beginning June 20. This year’s theme is titled “Travel the Globe with Books.”

Sue McPherson, assistant librarian in charge of youth services, said the program would have a multicultural theme and focus on “the diversity of a global neighborhood.”

McPherson and assistant Barb Kinney will provide crafts and stories as well as introduce speakers from various backgrounds who will speak about their native countries.

Registration forms are available at the library, located at 39 Second St. For more information, call the library at 764-2571.
