HOULTON – Houlton poured it on in the third quarter, outscoring Woodland 25-13, while running to an 89-65 schoolboy basketball victory over Woodland here Monday night.
Dan Dahl poured in 34 points, including five 3-pointers, and Chad Belyea tossed in 25 (four 3-pointers) to spearhead the 2-3 Shiretowners to victory. Dave Yarema scored 20 points for Houlton.
The 4-2 Dragons ran into trouble when starters Corey McIver and Ryan Cilley fouled out in the third quarter. McIver finished with 29 points and Jim Wirkala added 11 for Woodland.

MOUNT DESERT – Old Town placed six players in double figures, led by Matt Arsenault’s 26-point effort, while rolling to a 93-30 schoolboy basketball victory over Mount Desert Island here Monday night.
Scott Springer tossed in 14 points, while Steve Pooler, John L’Heureux and Corey Madden contributed 13 points apiece. Matt Shorette chipped in with 10 for the 3-0 Indians, whose defense held MDI to 16 points in three quarters.
Chris Jeffers led the 1-5 Trojans with eight points.
