EASTON – Principal Donna Lisnik has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2002. Commencement exercises were held Friday, June 7, at Easton Junior-Senior High School.
Kelly O’Mara, daughter of Gwen and Bernard O’Mara of Easton, was named valedictorian for the Class of 2002. She will attend the University of Maine in Orono to study education with a concentration in music.
O’Mara was active in varsity soccer, varsity basketball, and volleyball. She was a member of the band, chorus and jazz choir, was selected for all-Aroostook and all-state chorus, and has held many leadership positions. O’Mara was the senior class secretary, French club secretary and president of National Honor Society. She was a Junior Exhibition speaker and was in the cast of both the senior play and One-Act play. She recently was selected as recipient of the Maine Principals’ Association Award for Easton Junior-Senior High School.
Shelby Wilcox, daughter of Mary and Tim Wilcox of Easton, was named salutatorian for the Class of 2002. She will attend Emerson College in Massachusetts to study television-media.
She has been a cheerleader, was in the cast of both the senior play and the One-Act play. She was a Junior Exhibition speaker, a member of the band, chorus, and jazz choir. She has shared her musical talents in her church and local nursing homes.
Wilcox has held leadership position while in high school and represented the Varsity Club in media, was president of the French Club and vice president of the National Honor Society.
Jessica Littlefield, daughter of Marchelle White of Easton and Dean Littlefield of Portland, was named first honor essayist for the Class of 2002. She will serve as a member of the United States Coast Guard this fall.
She participated on the soccer team, volleyball team and as a cheerleader for her four years of high school. She was a member of the Varsity Club, vice president of the French Club and student council treasurer. She was president of the Key Club during her senior year. She sang in chorus and is active in her church.
Ashley Dionne, daughter of Pamela Dionne of Easton, was named second honor essayist for the Class of 2002. She will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle to study business management.
She was chosen to receive an award from the Society of Women Engineers her junior year and received the Husson College Medal for Excellence. She was co-editor of the yearbook.
