PETA Eater

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has praised Little Lad’s Basket, a vegan bakery and restaurant with three Maine locations (including Main Street in Bangor) in its PETA Eats Web column. The group singled out Little Lad’s as its June “selected restaurant” and reviewer Andrew Butler writes, “If you have any preconceptions about what a vegan restaurant is supposed to look like and what the food is supposed to taste like, prepare to change them.” Butler also liked the all-you-can-eat buffet – a bargain at $3.99. Beau-tea parlor

Iced tea is a refreshing summer beverage, but it’s equally refreshing for sunburn relief or to ease mosquito bites. After brewing tea, chill the tea bags and place them over sunburned skin, puffy eyes or swollen mosquito bites. You can also rinse with warm black tea to condition sun-dried hair.
