WATERVILLE – Carol Anne Beach, who spent the last year as interim head women’s basketball coach at Colby College here, was named the head coach of that team and the women’s soccer team, the school announced.

Beach, a 1988 Colby graduate, had previously been an assistant coach for women’s basketball and soccer at Brandeis University in Boston. She spent the 1990-91 academic year as sports information director at Colby.

“She is a very good match for Colby’s tradition of competitive success in both basketball and soccer,” said Colby Athletic Director Dick Whitmore.

Beach captained both the soccer and basketball teams in her senior year at Colby. She holds the career assist record at Colby.
