Narraguagus of Harrington senior Ashley Woodward has been named the recipient of the Gatorade Maine High School Softball Player of the Year.
She finished with a 20-1 mark for the past season, including 30 2/3 scoreless innings in playoff wins over Hodgdon, Calais, and St. Dominic of Lewiston. She posted a 56-8 career record with 702 strikeouts and 74 walks, and an ERA of 0.70.
Woodward led the Knights in six hitting categories: .514 batting average, 35 RBIs, 15 doubles, 4 triples, 37 total hits, and a .602 on base percentage. She is the first Narraguagus player to earn the honor.
