PRESQUE ISLE — Stockholders of Maine Public Service Co. approved certain amendments to the company’s articles of incorporation Tuesday at the annual organization meeting.

During the meeting, the following directors were re-elected to serve until the annual stockholder meeting in 1993: D. James Daigle, G. Melvin Hovey and Walter M. Reed Jr.

Ralph A. Brown was elected honorary chairman of the board; G. Melvin Hovey, chairman of the board and president; Frederick C. Bustard, vice president for engineering and operations; Paul R. Cariani, vice president for finance and treasurer; and Stephen A. Johnson, vice president for customer service and general counsel, secretary and clerk.

Directors also declared a quarterly dividend of $2.04 on the company’s common stock, payable July 1 to holders of record June 15.

The amendments included an increase in the company’s authorized capital stock.
