MARS HILL – Angela Allen contributed to her own cause in a big way with a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh that gave the host Central Aroostook Panthers a 10-9 schoolgirl softball victory over Community High of Fort Kent here Monday.
Allen, who also hit three singles, launched a 3-1 pitch over the fence with two outs in the seventh to help Central Aroostook finish the regular season with an 11-5 record. Allen (7-3) also pitched a seven-hitter and struck out 12 for the Panthers. Janine Kinney had a triple, two singles, and an RBI.
For the 13-3 Warriors, Nikki Caron tripled, singled, and drove in three runs. Joy Pelletier hit a solo home run in the fifth.

At Bucksport, Tammy Ames’ single in the bottom of the sixth inning got by the Maine Central Institute right fielder, allowing Sherri Sanna to score from second base and lifting the host Golden Bucks to the victory over the Huskies.
For 14-2 Bucksport, Ames finished with two singles while Michelle Costigan added one single. Tracy Huggins squeezed in Bucksport’s other run with a bunt. Winning pitcher Jennifer Wardwell surrendered just four hits, striking out 10 and walking nobody.
The Huskies, who suffered their first loss in 16 games, had Courtney Barnes with a single and a double and Cory Monday and Jessie Barnes with a single each. Becky Vaughan struck out eight and walked five while giving up just three hits.

At Milo, Cristal Young singled twice and doubled to help lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to the win over host Penquis.
Sue LaPoint hit two doubles for the Ponies.
Karen Weston doubled twice and singled twice for the 2-12 Patriots. Barbie Badger singled twice and tripled. Sue Tonick had a double and a single.

At Thorndike, Mount View’s Laura Hess rapped an RBI single with two out in the fifth inning to break up Samantha London’s no-hit bid, but Camden-Rockport won easily.
Jim Mitchell and Angie Holmes each tripled and singled behind London for the 11-5 Windjammers. The game was called after five innings because of the 12-run rule.
For the 1-13 Mustangs, Dani Littlefield took the loss.

At Hermon, Angel Graham led the John Bapst Crusaders to victory in their regular-season finale with three singles, a triple and an RBI against Hermon.
Nicky Gogan tripled in a run for the Crusaders, 4-12 on the season. Angeline Moore had three singles and three RBIs, and Nancy Deshane added an RBI on two singles.
Tanya Winchenbach and D.J. Glazier each had an RBI single for the 2-14 Hawks.

JB Royals sweep twinbill
At Jonesport Saturday, Sandi Carver pitched back-to-back one-hitters and led the host Jonesport-Beals Royals to the sweep over Shead of Eastport.
In the first game, Carver (13-0) struck out 12 and walked none for the 14-0 Royals. Stacey Lakeman had two singles and a triple, Lynette Beal singled twice and doubled, and Carver tripled and singled.
For the Tigers, Ivy Newcomb doubled in the fifth for the only hit.
In the second game, Carver struck out 11 and walked one for the win. Bev Smith singled twice and doubled. Heather Beal added two singles.
Heather Reynolds’ single in the fourth was the only hit for Shead.
