How many major issues have our Republicans and Democrats solved? Not many it seems. They appear to be more adept at causing problems.
Our politicians are running scared at the thought of H. Ross Perot’s candidacy. They are beginning to see what we Mainers have known for a long time: that an independent can win.
Republicans seem to think we “older folks, young folks, and farmers” aren’t overly endowed with brains. Wrong! We know that we have been taken for a long ride, and we are about to do something about it.
Perot is a businessman. That puts him a notch above lawyers and politicians to start with. We do not expect him to have all the answers. We intend to install a Congress that will help him by mandates from the people. You know, we peons.
It is time we started worrying more about our own country and countrymen than other world communities. Our needs must be met first.
Our representatives must start serving the people who put them in office, as opposed to the rich and poweful.
I am very angry at our politburo and am going to do all I can to change it. Stanley C. Buck Milford
