Limestone Community School
LIMESTONE – Honor parts for the Class of 2002 have been announced by Principal Paul Beaulieu.
Sara Johnson-Berz, daughter of Lawrence and Sharon Berz of Limestone, was named valedictorian for the Class of 2002.
She plans to attend the University of Southern Maine in Gorham to study music performance.
Johnson-Berz was vice president of the National Honor Society and participated in the Maine School of Science and Mathematics jazz band and chorus, Limestone Community School concert band, Aroostook Chamber Orchestra, All-Aroostook Chorus and was involved in drama and musical theater. She participated in soccer, tennis, basketball, yearbook staff and Youth Ministry.
Suzie Johnson-Berz, daughter of Lawrence and Sharon Berz of Limestone, was named salutatorian of the Class of 2002.
She plans to attend the University of Maine at Machias to study marine biology.
She was president of the National Honor Society and state president of Health Occupations Students of America. She was involved in drama, chorus, Aroostook Orchestra and Youth Ministry. She participated in soccer, tennis, volleyball and basketball.
The third-ranked honor student of the class was Louise Philbrick, daughter of Jesse Philbrick of Limestone and Wendy Perkins. She plans to attend Eastern Maine Technical College in Bangor to study radiology.
Philbrick was a member of the National Honor Society, the Civil Rights Team, L-Club and served as secretary for the Class of 2002. She played both junior varsity and varsity soccer and softball.Kayla Barton was the fourth-ranked honor student of the class. She is the daughter of Richard and Diane Norton of Limestone. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall.
Barton was a member of the National Honor Society, All Aroostook Chorus and Future Farmers of America.
Joshua Stackhouse, son of Kenneth and Karen Stackhouse of Limestone, was the fifth-ranked honor student. He plans to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle to study physical education
He was a member of Future Farmers of America and the L-Club for four years. He played junior varsity and varsity basketball, soccer and golf.
