Cold Stream blanks Hampden

HOWLAND – Chad Smith scored one goal and assisted on two others, leading Cold Stream’s Kickers to a 5-0 win over Hampden in Central Maine Summer Soccer action here Wednesday. Andy Weymouth added a goal and an assist for Cold Stream (4-1), while Ryan Reed, Mike Bernard, and Craig Dube contributed goals. Carlton Thurlow logged the shutout in net. Hampden fell to 0-5.

Jasmine’s beats Rockets

EAST SULLIVAN – Dave Carlson scored two goals to lead Jasmine’s of Orono to a 7-3 Central Maine Summer Soccer League high school division win over host Rockets here Friday. For 4-1 Jasmine’s, Kevin Churchill, Andrew Mountcastle, Tim Hornberg, Jamie Beaudoin and Nate Garwood each scored a goal. Jeff Craig and Aaron Asimakotolous were in goal. For 3-2 Rockets, Ben Perry and Sheldon Young shared goalie duty.

Absolute Soccer edges International

ORONO – Mike McGuire scored both goals for Absolute Soccer, including the game-winner on a penalty kick in the first half here Wednesday, to key a 2-1 win over International Soccer Association of Orono at the University of Maine. For 4-0-2 Absolute, Joey Ouellette assisted on the other goal. Jayson Reynolds was the goaltender. For 0-2-1 International, Francis Mypege scored unassisted. Guyguy Mypege was in goal.
