ORONO – Righthander Al Perkins scattered nine hits and Joe Nelson’s two-run single keyed a two-out, five-run rally in the third inning as Bangor-Brewer beat Molunkus 8-1 in an Eastern Maine Amateur Baseball League game at Mahaney Diamond here Wednesday.
Perkins struck out nine and walked three in his complete-game win.
B-B’s decisive third inning rally featured four walks, a run-producing wild pitch, Nelson’s base hit and an ensuing run-producing error and Jamie White’s RBI single.
Chad White had a double and a single, one RBI and three stolen bases for 4-1 Bangor-Brewer and Ron Hewes had an RBI double. Phil Petry had a double and a single for 3-3 Molunkus; Paul Bosse singled twice and Randy Harris doubled.
