The Mount Desert Island Acadians, Bucksport, Katahdin, Waldo County, and Belfast all notched victories in Monday’s Little League All-Star playoffs.
In District 3 baseball action, MDI eliminated Millinocket 2-0 in a starting pitchers’ duel, Bucksport eliminated Brewer 27-16, and Katahdin outlasted Loring-Limestone 6-5 in 14 innings.
The Calais at Eastport game was postponed due to a wet field. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday. MDI will play at Bucksport the same day.
Katahdin will play at Houlton Wednesday.
In District 2 baseball action, Waldo County eliminated Rockland 4-3 and Belfast defeated Camden 7-0.
Waldo will play at Camden Wednesday. Belfast awaits the winner of that game for a playoff on Monday.

MDI 2, Millinocket 0
At Millinocket, Matt McFarland pitched a five-hitter, walked none, and hit an RBI triple to lead the Mount Desert Island Acadians to the win.
For the 2-1 Acadians, Josh Schwartz led off the game with a triple and scored on McFarland’s triple. Robert Hebron’s single scored McFarland with the second and last run of the game.
Darren Daniels pitched a three-hitter, struck out 11, and walked none but took the loss. Daniels led the offense with a double and single.

Bucksport 27, Brewer 16
At Bucksport, Buss Simpson and Cory Nightengale each went 5-for-5 to lead the 24-hit attack by the Bucksport All-Stars.
Simpson hit a three-run homer, two doubles, and a single for 4-1 Bucksport. Nightengale hit a two-run homer, a double, and three singles. Cameron Gerow went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double. Keith Freeman hit three singles.
For 1-2 Brewer, Josh Hiatt went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two singles. Andy Graham had two singles and a double. Eric Pinkham and Tony Tremble each singled twice.

At Limestone, with the bases loaded and two out, Wade Stubbs drew a walk to tie the game and Travis Gould followed with another walk to force in the winning run for Katahdin in 14 innings.
For 2-1 Katahdin, Willie Sleeper tripled, doubled, and singled twice to help pace the offense. John Mooney pitched four innings of relief for the victory.
For 1-2 Loring-Limestone, Seth Aldrich belted a solo home run and singled twice. Anthony Lankford doubled, and hit four singles. John Chase added a double and single.

At Winterport, Matt Martin’s RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning scored Jeff McDougall from second with the winning run for Waldo County.
For 3-1 Waldo, Josh Tripp singled twice. Martin had two doubles and two RBIs.
Singles by Craig Dauksis, Phil Jura, and Clint Dean were the only hits by 2-2 Rockland.

At Belfast, Alan Blood’s three-run triple was the big blow of the game as the Belfast All-Stars handed Camden its first loss.
Tim Telless hit an RBI single and Roland Littlefield singled twice for 3-0 Belfast. Josh Herron pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine for the win.
For 2-1 Camden, Jon Moro’s double in the fourth was the lone hit.
