OLD TOWN – The Penobscot Federal Credit Union is undergoing several changes as part of an expansion.

The credit union, which previously served people living and working in the Old Town area, is expanding its service area to include all of Penobscot County.

As part of this process, it will open a northern Penobscot County branch in West Enfield. The project will begin within the next six months, with the grand opening expected to occur by the end of this year or early next year.

In order to reflect its larger field of membership while keeping part of the organization’s origin, the credit union will change its name to Penobscot County Federal Credit Union.
