Young sparks Trenton

ELLSWORTH – Dustin Young tossed a three-hitter with four strikeouts to help the Trenton Acadians roll over the Penquis Navigators 16-3 in an American Legion baseball game Tuesday.

Brandon Colbeth powered Trenton with a triple, a single and three RBIs. Garrett Hardison hit two singles and drove in three runs, and Ben Freeman hit a three-run triple. Chad Smith singled twice and added two RBIs.

Seth Gabbarro hit an RBI double for Penquis.

At Pittsfield, Devin Potvin’s RBI single in the sixth inning proved to the game-winning as the Wildcats earned the victory.

Potvin finished with two singles. John Bonney hit an RBI triple and Chris Cameron added a triple.

Josh Vile led the Storm with a double, a single and two RBIs. Jake Lasselle singled twice and drove in a run. Phil Hendricks added two singles.

At Heddericg Field in Brewer, righthander Andrew Patterson allowed only five hits while striking out two and walking three to help the Falcons win.

Joel Barrett doubled twice and drove in a run for the winners while Kyle Dalton had an RBI single and double. Abram Allard chipped in with a run-scoring single and sacrifice fly and Shawn Sutherland had an RBI single.

Chris Rand singled twice for Orono.

Bangor 10, Lincoln 2

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Andy Sullivan doubled, singled and drove in two runs to lift Bangor to the win.

Zev Myerowitz chipped in with three RBIs and a single and Andy Tremble added a single and scored four runs to back winning pitcher Bill Chapman, who struck out six.

Scott Flannery singled twice for Lincoln and Matt Malone added an RBI double.
