Bangor East tips Bangor West

BANGOR – Ian Edwards fired a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as Bangor East edged Bangor West 3-0 in a District 3 Little League baseball all-star game for ages 11-12 Tuesday.

Two of Bangor East’s three third-inning runs came home on passed balls. Chad Kelly and Mack Susi each singled for their team’s only hits.

The win eliminated Bangor West from the tourney and Bangor East advanced to today’s championship round against Old Town.

Bangor West’s Kyle Gallant also turned in a fine pitching performance as he gave up only two hits while striking out 10. Christian LaRochelle roped two singles for Bangor West and Edwards singled.

Bangor East eliminates Holbrook

At Bangor East Monday, Christian Dionne slammed a three-run home run plus an RBI double, totaling four RBIs as Bangor East eliminated Holbrook with an 11-4 victory.

Kyle Gallant doubled, singled and knocked in four runs for the winners. Chris Ingraham singled twice and knocked in two runs to go with his two-hit, 10 strikeout performance. Tyler Brookings doubled.

Nick Smith launched a two-run homer for Holbrook of Holden and Tommy Jackson singled.

Acadian 11, Ellsworth 2

At Bar Harbor, Logan Norsen fired a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and four walks to help Acadian eliminate Ellsworth.

Luke Harton singled four times and drove in four runs for the winners. Dylan Burr rapped an RBI double. Nick Hubbard singled twice, doubled and knocked in a run, and Jon Hall had a pair of RBI singles.

Dillon Wilbur doubled and Eric Folmer singled for Ellsworth’s lone hits.

Rockland 9, Camden-Rockport 3

At Rockland, Kristin Harjula tripled, doubled, singled and knocked in a run to help Rockland capture the District 2 softball crown.

Dana Clark launched a triple and a single for the winners. Megan Ranquist, Erika Felt and Jane Pazalais contributed a single each.

Five different players each singled for Camden-Rockport.

Hampden 13, Bangor West 1

At Bangor West, Lacy Littlefield fired a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Hampden rolled to the victory.

Michelle Wells and Kacey Belcher each had two singles for the winners. Littlefield added a double and a single.

Erica Tweedie doubled and singled for Bangor West and Erica Dean singled.

At Bangor East, Nick Michaud launched an RBI triple in the top of the sixth to send Ben Zmistowski, who doubled earlier in the inning, home with the winning run for Old Town.

Lonnie Hackett roped an RBI double in the first to go with an RBI single in the third. He also fanned 10. Dillon Morin singled and scored.

Eric White sparked Brewer with an RBI double in the sixth, two singles and three runs scored. Tyler Kingsbury laced an RBI single, and Evan Nadeau singled twice and scored three runs.

At Bangor, Katy MacDonald hurled a two-hitter as Bangor prevailed in Junior League action.

Danielle Wright and Elyse Angst had two singles each for the winners.

Allison Gallant singled and Jenny Jones doubled for Old Town.
