Outreach workers to aid residents

ROCKLAND — Outreach workers from Mid-Coast Human Resources Council will meet with Knox County residents at town offices or fire stations during the month of September to assist them with social services resources.

Outreach workers will help with applications for and/or information about food stamps, low-cost drug cards, family crisis, Medicaid, tax and rent rebates, Head Start and general assistance, among other programs.

Outreach workers also will have information about the community resources available to address a variety of needs. A home visit may be arranged for those who need one.

Polly Dudley will visit the following towns from 9:30 a.m. to noon: Monday, Aug. 31, and Thursday, Sept. 17, in St. George; Wednesdays, Sept. 2 and 9, in Rockport; Tuesdays, Sept. 8 and 22, in Camden; Monday, Sept. 21, in Cushing; Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Friendship; and Monday, Sept. 14, in South Thomaston.

Dudley will visit Owls Head from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Mary Ann Small will visit the following towns from 9:30 a.m. to noon: Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Appleton; Wednesday, Sept. 2, and Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Warren; Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Union; Wednesday, Sept. 9, and Monday, Sept. 21, in Thomaston; and Monday, Sept. 14, in Washington.
