Vikings tip Bangor 1-0

CARIBOU – Kristle Putnam’s goal off an Allison Plourde pass with 18:57 remaining in the game gave Caribou a 1-0 schoolgirl soccer win over visiting Bangor High here Monday.

It was Caribou’s eighth win against one loss and four ties. Bangor is 7-4-1.

Caribou goalie Tricia Martin made three saves on five shots. It was her eighth shutout of the season.

Ram goalie Laura Jordan made 14 saves on 26 shots.

PVHS 1, Penquis 0

At Milo, Gina Lindsay scored off an assist from Lisa Pelletier with eight minutes to play, leading Penobscot Valley of Howland to victory.

Julie DeLaite made 16 saves on 19 shots for the Howlers, now 6-5-2.

Andrea Haley made five stops on 13 shots for 2-6-5 Penquis of Milo.

Hampden 5, Orono 0

At Hampden, Bethany Atkins had a goal and an assist to help pace the Hampden Academy Broncos to the shutout.

Amy Bright, Angela Faulkner, Amy Dwyer, and Becky Herrick each scored a goal for the 7-4-1 Broncos. Amy Cattelle made four saves on five shots.

Cheryl Zoerheide made eight saves on 16 shots for the 3-5-2 Red Riots.

Hampden won the JV game 4-1.

Hampden 3, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle Saturday, Barrett Silver scored two goals to lead the Hampden Broncos past the host Wildcats.

Amy Dwyer scored a goal for the Broncos. Cattelle saved seven of eight shots.

Darcy Cayer scored the lone goal for the 4-5-4 Wildcats. Jen White made 12 saves on 16 shots.
