WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Susan Collins has been selected to receive the William H. Natcher Distinguished Service Award from the Committee for Education Funding for her “distinguished service in the 107th Congress in elevating the priority for education funding to ensure better opportunities for our nation’s citizens.”
Collins will receive the award at a special ceremony in Washington on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Committee for Education Funding is a nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of more than 100 organizations dedicated to the goal of achieving adequate federal financial support for schools and students across the nation.
CEF members include educational associations, institutions, agencies, and organizations whose interests range from preschool to postgraduate education in both public and private systems.
“I am honored to have been chosen to receive this award recognizing my commitment to accessible, quality education,” said Collins in a press release.
